Normal People's Daisy Edgar-Jones makes her biggest bid for stardom yet in the forthcoming Where the Crawdads Sing. Delia Owens' atmospheric tale of love and intrigue is adapted for the big screen and places Edgar-Jones at the centre as the mysterious Kya.
A so-called 'swamp girl' who has grown up isolated amidst the North Carolina marshes, Kya experiences a tumultuous coming of age. When she hits young adulthood, Kya finds herself pulled into a murder investigation after one of her ex-lovers is found dead.
The movie is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon who confessed to having been riveted by Owens' bestselling novel. The book's audience-pleasing blend of regional atmospherics, romance and mystery are sure to break through with audiences when it arrives on the big screen.
