Have you checked out the first image from Joker sequel, Joker: Folie a Deux? It's been released by director Todd Phillips and shows Joaquin Phoenix's title character (formerly known as Arthur Fleck) getting a shave.
So far, so innocuous, but there's bound to be more going on here than meets the eye. Check out the image below.
Phoenix pairs with Lady Gaga in the sequel to 2019's blockbusting Joker, although her role is currently unknown. The title of the movie translates as a madness or delusion shared by two, so can we expect Lady Gaga to be playing the Joker's paramour Harley Quinn? It's been reported but we're awaiting official confirmation.
For now, we can at least anticipate Phoenix's return to his Oscar-winning role, that of a tragic human clown who incited city-wide madness and rage in Gotham. The first movie culminated in Arthur being locked up inside Arkham Asylum, which has us feverishly speculating as to the nature of Todd Phillips' follow-up.
Zazie Beetz is back as Sophie Dumond, while the cast also includes Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener and Jacob Lofland.
