Prepare to be terrified with The Exorcist: Believer in premium formats including IMAX and 4DX

The Exorcist: Believer possesses an arsenal of almighty scares as it continues the legacy of the classic original. (Remember to book for The Exorcist on October 4th as part of our Horror Season.)

Halloween director David Gordon Green picks up with the first movie's Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn). She's haunted by the memory of her younger daughter Regan's possession back in 1973 and Chris must assist an imperilled father when a familiar demon overcomes his daughter and her friend.

The Exorcist: Believer has it all: possessions, scary faces, diabolical forces. So, are you brave enough to confront the notorious entity Pazuzu by watching the movie in premium formats at Cineworld? Here are all the ways in which you can greet The Exorcist this October.

1. IMAX

Horror is always best experienced with a crowd – there's nothing quite like that communal jump-scare feeling or clammy atmosphere of terror. So, imagine what a new Exorcist movie is like in IMAX.

IMAX utlises a greatly expanded aspect ratio (1.90:1 versus anamorphic widescreen's 2.39:1), plus a bold remastering process, dual projection and perfectly tuned surround sound.

It'll seem as if Old Scratch the devil himself is leaping at you from all corners, assailing you with memorably frightening sights and sounds. Are you willing to engage?

2. 4DX

Horror is a genre that one is meant to feel at their very core. The uniquely and enjoyably squirmy effect of a new Exorcist movie goes hand-in-hand with the 4DX format, immersing one in the physical horrors of the battle between good and evil.

Unique to Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland, 4DX is a uniquely immersive multisensory format. It combines seat movement (generated by tactile motion programming) with a range of dynamic effects (wind, water, scents).

As all hell breaks loose in the movie (quite literally), allow 4DX to augment every jumpy movement via physical seat movement, and every chilling body transformation via an assortment of tactile sensations.

3. ScreenX

ScreenX is an all-enveloping, 270-degree viewing experience that extends a given movie onto the side walls of the auditorium. The state-of-the-art technology uses up to 12 additional projectors to extend the movie beyond your peripheral vision.

Chances are you won't ever attend an exorcism in your life. However, we can promise you the next best thing via The Exorcist: Believer in ScreenX as terror lunges out and surrounds you on all sides. If you come out shaking, then consider it a horror experience done well.

4. Superscreen

Movies feel like masterpieces in Superscreen. State-of-the-art projection and amazingly life-like sound combine to deliver an Exorcist experience that will terrify and stimulate in equal measure.
