Supernova is an affecting and moving new drama starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci. They play Sam and Tusker, two long-term partners who are grappling with Tusker's tragic dementia diagnosis. This prompts a redemptive road trip around the spectacular Lake District, as the two men come to terms with their past and their present, and what remains of their future.
Directed by Harry Macqueen (check out our interview with him here), the film elicits superb performances from the two veteran actors. The movie screened in advance for Cineworld Unlimited members and here's a sampling of the reactions.
4/5. Helmed mostly by the incredible actors, the story is emotional and engaging. Lots of nice shots.

Dementia is a touch subject to handle in any art form but this film touched on it in a way that felt real and genuine. It’s a sad yet soulful experience.
#Supernova a truly personal and intimate story of love through extreme and uncontrollable circumstances #Tucci and #Firth are stunning

Beautifully shot and very well acted, I feel like I didn’t quite get the closure I needed at the end but I feel that might even be deliberate as from experience you never truly get closure when it comes to dementia #Supernova

Really touching and gently moving. It makes you feel for anyone in that sort of circumstance (like my parents, for example) 😢

Supernova was a fantastic film. Elevated by Colin Firth’s and Stanley Tucci’s performances. They have a fantastic chemistry which made me love their relationship in the film. They made me laugh and they made me wanna cry. Not as good as The Father but still very good. 4/5.

A truly stunning film. The two leads were excellent in what is a very difficult story to tell. Another great offering for us unlimited members.
