Who can resist a movie that sticks it to the sickeningly rich? That's the aim of the delicious new black comedy Saltburn, and we're inviting Unlimited members to see the film in advance this November.
The brilliant Barry Keoghan, Oscar nominee for The Banshees of Inisherin, adds another memorably neurotic oddball character to his resumé. He plays Oliver Quick, a lower-class student adrift in a sea of snooty toffs at Oxford University. However, Oliver then bonds with the upper-crust Felix (Euphoria's Jacob Elordi) who invites him back to his family pile known as Saltburn.
Oliver is introduced to Felix's outrageous aristocratic family, which allows noted scene-stealers Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant to chew the scenery with abandon. Against a soundtrack of mid-2000s bangers (MGMT fans, unite), Oliver becomes initiated in a decadent world beyond his understanding – but it comes at a shocking price.
Saltburn is helmed by writer-director Emerald Fennell who enjoyed Oscar-winning success with the scabrous Promising Young Woman. Saltburn, likewise, takes great relish in picking at the scab of the class divide as it's augmented by stylish cinematography from La La Land Oscar winner Linus Sandgren.
If you're looking for something pleasingly sour ahead of the sweet-natured Christmas season, then this should fit the bill.
Saltburn screens in advance for Unlimited members on November 8th. Click the link below to book your tickets.
