Performances don't come more transformative or gripping than that of actor David Oyelowo as Martin Luther King in Selma.
Released this Friday in Cineworld, the Oscar nominated film focuses on the iconic activist's landmark 1965 civil rights march from Selma, Alabama to the state capital in Montgomery.
I recently sat down with David to discuss his highly acclaimed performance, which strips back the iconography of this feted individual and exposes the vulnerable, flawed human being beneath. In the interview, David also discusses how he conveyed King's unmistakable charisma and how he was able to mimic that famously resonant voice.
