These are the 17 August Bank Holiday weekend movies to watch at Cineworld

A three day weekend is music to our ears! And the perfect opportunity to head to the cinema and watch one of the latest releases. Falling at the end of a long six week school holiday stretch, too, you may be scrambling for ways to keep the kids occupied, too. Cineworld is here to help and give some inspiration on how to spend a few blissful hours in a dark room being thoroughly entertained whether as a family, with a partner, or a solo trip just for you.

Here’s everything that’s showing at Cineworld over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.

Get your fix of superheroes and dinosaurs

Choose your fighter. Will it be Mister Fantastic or a T-Rex? Or Jonathan Bailey’s teeny, tiny glasses? Jurassic World Rebirth is still showing at Cineworld – and it's returned in 4DX. You can also still catch the first movie in Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Fantastic Four: First Steps with its star-studded cast.

After a bit of gun slinging?

Likely not the restful summer holiday the kids have had, assassin Hutch Mansell was hoping to reconnect with his family and take some time away from the hectic, barbaric nature of his line of work. But of course, it can never be that simple, with this second instalment to the 2021 original hitting just as hard.

Or swap for Ari Aster’s Western-noir with Eddington. Set in the year 2020, the pandemic is kicking off and Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal are coming to blows.

Something with a little bit of heart

Over the fight sequences and loud noises? There are a couple of films out that sit more on the sincere side. They’ll either leave you spinning out into an existential void or swooning over a broken woman healing through the love of a cat. Well, that’s part of what Sorry, Baby is about, anyway.

Materialists takes a look at the bleak world of modern day dating, what we value most in a relationship, and choosing between your head and your heart.

Sorry, Baby is the journey of a woman who puts down roots in a place that broke her, making her wonder whether she ever really moved on. When her and her college friends reunite, Agnes is faced with all the milestones they’re experiencing, while she took up a job teaching at the liberal arts school where her abuser once worked.
