Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry/Aquaman must protect all that he holds dear in the new trailer for DC's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. At the end of the previous Aquaman movie, Momoa's titular superhero was crowned King of Atlantis, having defeated the usurper Prince Orm (Patrick Wilson).
Even so, the post-credits sequence (if you can remember it) teased the rise of the mercenary known as Black Manta (Yahya Abdul Mateen II) who vowed to bring Aquaman to his knees. Several years later and that plot strand comes to fruition in The Lost Kingdom with Black Manta wielding the Black Trident to help claim Atlantis for his own.
Now that Aquaman's life spans both terra firma and the underwater worlds, he's got a lot more to lose, including the risk to his new baby. To protect his mother Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) and his father Thomas (Temeura Morrison), Aquaman must pair up with the outcast Orm to stop Black Manta in his tracks. Here's the new trailer.
As before James Wan is behind the camera, having spun box office gold from the earlier Aquaman movie. Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is the last instalment in the current iteration of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) before it's rebooted by James Gunn.
