Horror icon Ghostface is set to scare up a storm once again in the forthcoming Scream movie. The fifth film in the blockbusting horror franchise, Scream pits a new serial killer against a host of series veterans and new faces. In the former camp: Neve Campbell's embattled Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox's Gale Weathers and David Arquette's Dewey Riley. In the latter camp, we've got rising stars including Jack Quaid (The Boys), Melissa Barrera (In the Heights) and others.
Ready or Not filmmakers Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin are promising to do justice to the late Wes Craven's legacy. The latter ignited fresh interest in the slasher genre with the original 1996 Scream movie, working with screenwriter Kevin Williamson to both deconstruct and celebrate the conventions of serial killer movies.
Given that Sidney has fought her way through an onslaught of psychopaths across the course of several movies, we wonder who the latest lunatic could be? We're expecting twists and turns aplenty en route to the inevitably bloody finale.
Check out the following behind-the-scenes video in which the cast and crew discuss the return of the classic Ghostface costume and its importance to the horror genre. Scream is released in Cineworld cinemas on 14th January 2022.
