Sony and Cineworld have teamed up to bring you unmissable February half-term movies. One of them is Beatrix Potter-themed family blockbuster Peter Rabbit – and on that note, here are the characters you can expect to meet in sequel Peter Rabbit 2.
THE OLD FAVOURITES
1. Peter Rabbit
Once again voiced by James Corden (The Prom), mischievous animal ring-leader Peter this time tries out a life in the big city. Dismayed, his loyal friends attempt to get him back. It was in 1902 that Peter made his book debut – now, he holds sway over a new generation of moviegoers.
2. Mopsy Rabbit
Tenet's Elizabeth Debicki returns to voice Peter's endearing rabbit sister.
3. Flopsy Rabbit
As anyone who's read Beatrix Potter's books will know, Peter's other sister Flopsy is the mother of six children named The Flopsy Bunnies. We won't expect that in the movie, necessarily, but Birds of Prey's Margot Robbie makes a welcome return to voice the character.
4. Thomas McGregor
Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina) reprises his flesh and blood role as perpetually exasperated farmer Thomas. At the end of the first film, he reached an accord with former veg-stealing nemesis Peter, but can it last?
5. Cottontail Rabbit
Aimee Horne replaces Daisy Ridley to voice the irrepressibly adorable Cottontail, Peter's third sister.
THE NEW FACES
1. Jemima Puddle-Duck
Aylesbury duck breed Jemima first appeared in book form in 1908, following Beatrix Potter's purchase of Hill Top Farm in the Lake District in 1905. In Peter Rabbit 2, Jemima is voiced by Rose Byrne (who doubles up as McGregor's returning romantic interest Bea).
2. Jeremy Fisher
Buoyant frog Jeremy is voiced by Thomas McGregor actor Domhnall Gleeson. In the new movie, will we see his 'slippy-sloppy' house at the edge of the pond, as per the original story?
3. Samuel Whiskers
Rough and tumble rat Samuel Whiskers made his debut under Potter's pen in 1908. In Peter Rabbit 2, he's voiced by Red Dwarf's Rupert Degas.
4. Tom Kitten
Impossibly cute feline Tom is a naughty cat who refuses to be groomed, as per Potter's original 1907 story. For the purposes of the movie, he's voiced by Once Upon a Time in Hollywood's Damon Herriman.
5. Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle
Prickly yet playful, hedgehog Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle is, as per the first film, voiced by Australian pop star Sia.
