Disney sweeping live-action remake of Mulan is scheduled for release on the 24th of July, and is also screening in ScreenX and 4DX. Check out the new posters.
What do we need to know about Mulan?
Directed by Niki Caro, Mulan is the latest live-action Disney reboot. It's a remake of the studio's Oscar-nominated 1998 animation, while also drawing inspiration from 6th-century Chinese poem 'The Ballad of Mulan', the story of Hua Mulan who took her father's place in the Chinese army.
Liu Yifei is the eponymous Mulan, with the all-star supporting cast including Gong Li, Jason Scott Lee, Jet Li and Donnie Yen. Although there are no songs in the movie and the Eddie Murphy dragon character Mushu is absent, singer Christina Aguilera is back on board. She's re-recorded her classic 'Reflection' and has also released a brand new ballad, 'Loyal Brave True'.
What is ScreenX?
ScreenX is the world’s first multi-projection theatre technology, providing a 270-degree viewing experience that projects onto the screen and side walls of the cinema. The immersive technology amalgamates several images into one single picture which extends from the central screen outwards, enabling audiences to feel part of the film. The side walls of the cinema are designed to have the brightness and colour perfectly match the main screen content, and speakers are placed specifically to achieve optimum sound and a truly impactful movie experience.
What is 4DX?
Watching Mulan is one thing. Feeling it is something else – and that's where 4DX steps in. 4DX unleashes a host of effects including wind, lightning, rain, and fog, accompanied by moving seats, that render every martial arts movement glimpsed in Disney's latest epic.
