Paul Rudd will return as shrinking superhero Scott Lang in Marvel's Ant-Man 3. The official title of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie is Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, confirmed by Disney on Twitter as part of their newly unveiled slate.

As you can see from the Twitter announcement and the title, Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne/The Wasp is again front and centre. She also shared title credit in 2018's Ant-Man and The Wasp. Michael Douglas will be reprising his role as Scott Lang's mentor (and Hope's father) Hank Pym, the original designer of the Ant-Man suit. And Michelle Pfeiffer returns from the 2018 movie as Pym's wife Janet van Dyne.
Janet was thought to have been lost in the mass of the quantum realm, but returned during the events of the previous movie. This established the importance of said realm during the events of 2019's Avengers: Endgame, in which time was contorted and distorted to undo the legacy of the evil Thanos (Josh Brolin).
The title 'Quantumania' clearly signals that we've got a lot more to learn about the realm's significance. The presence of Jonathan Majors' character Kang the Conqueror is also intriguing. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, super-villain Kang the Conqueror has been treated to various iterations since his Marvel Comics debut in 1963. He was introduced as a nemesis of the Fantastic Four, going by the name Rama-Tut; he embraced the Kang moniker later in 1964, where he fought the Avengers. Otherwise known as Nathaniel Richards, this time-travelling genius combines various abilities including energy projection, holograms and advanced strength.
It's not all about the Pyms and the Conquerors. Kathryn Newton takes over from actor Emma Fuhrmann as Scott's now-grown-up daughter Cassie – they were reunited in Avengers: Endgame after Scott spent the equivalent of five years drifting through the Quantum Realm.
Peyton Reed once again directs and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will likely be significant in Marvel Phase Five. Tweet us @Cineworld with your thoughts on the movie.
