Madame Web star Dakota Johnson taps into her spider sense in our behind the scenes interview

Dakota Johnson makes her comic book movie debut in the Sony-Marvel adventure Madame Web.

Johnson plays Cassandra Webb, a clairvoyant paramedic whose ability to see and prevent the future causes her to cross paths with three other like-minded women. One of them is Julia Carpenter (Sydney Sweeney), later to become the iconic Spider-Woman, and together they must defeat the mysterious villain Ezekiel (Tahar Rahim).

The film belongs to the fast-growing Sony-Marvel universe that's already comprised two Venom blockbusters starring Tom Hardy, and the Jared Leto movie Morbius. Madame Web is helmed by S.J. Clarkson, a veteran of the Marvel series Jessica Jones, and fans are curious to see how the movie is set to establish threads with other comic book movies, namely the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We caught up with Dakota to talk all things spiders and cinema snacks, and how this big-screen iteration of the fan-favourite character Cassandra goes in a different direction from the comics. Check out the full video below.
