20th Century Studios has released two new images of Kenneth Branagh's hotly anticipated murder mystery Death On The Nile – the follow-up to his 2017 hit Murder On The Orient Express – and they're really getting us in the mood for another dose of Agatha Christie suspense.
One of the pictures shows The Man From U.N.C.L.E.'s Armie Hammer and Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot looking resplendent in glamorous 1930s fashion, and full of life before events turn sour. The pair appear as newly married couple Simon and Lynett Doyle, who form two-thirds of a love triangle with Jacqueline de Bellefort (Sex Education's Emma Mackey).

When the Doyles' honeymoon takes a deadly turn aboard an Egyptian river cruise, Hercule Poirot (Branagh) is on hand to investigate and try to find the murderous culprit among a cast that includes Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Rose Leslie, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders and Letitia Wright.
The other photo released by 20th Century Studios shows Gadot looking dazzling as she shimmies through a crowd of revellers in a low-cut silver dress.
While the film's release has been delayed by two weeks, its mix of thrills, intrigue, dry humour and stifling atmosphere, mixed under the baking Egyptian sun, will be worth the wait. And given the success of Murder On The Orient Express and the wealth of material from the master of the murder mystery, don't expect it to be the last time we see Branagh donning the whiskers for his ongoing 'ChristieVerse'.
This is the third adaptation of one of Agatha Christie's best-selling mysteries, following a 1978 film and a 2004 TV episode, with Peter Ustinov and David Suchet playing the moustached Belgian detective respectively.
Death On The Nile arrives at Cineworld cinemas on 23 October. Are you planning on investigating the mystery? If so, send us a Tweet @Cineworld – but don't expose the suspect just yet!
