Cineworld Birmingham welcomed local lad David Harewood to a special awards ceremony this week. David was awarded the Walk of Star, given to those individuals from the city who have made noteworthy achievements in their life.
The ceremony was hosted by Birmingham city council and held at Cineworld. Organiser Kevin Neiland says he was delighted to give David the award.
"Having a talented actor with aspirations to develop his career further and already setting his sights on Hollywood," says Kevin, "is a great achievement for me personally as I was lucky enough to be involved with this award and to set up what was seen as a great event.
Here at Cineworld Birmingham we always set our sights on bringing premieres to Birmingham and David Harewood has expressed keen interest in doing so with any future films if the opportunity arose."
The actor, famous for his appearances in the likes of Blood Diamond and Homeland was awarded the Walk of Star outside the cinema on Broad Street, before attending a special screening of Blood Diamond, followed by a Q&A.
