It's always a great day when one catches up with Daniel Kaluuya. The Oscar-winning British actor can currently be heard stealing scenes left, right and centre as the voice of Hobie aka Spider-Punk in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
The rebellious Hobie is but one of the many iterations of Spider-Man in this astonishingly inventive animated adventure. He's rendered as a messy, scrappy cut-out from an anarchist's pamphlet, bursting onto the scene to help guide the bewildered Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) through the endless possibilities of the multiverse.
Daniel is a valued addition to the movie's voice cast, which also includes Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy and Oscar Isaac as Miguel O'Hara. Hobie's disregard for authority sees him grabbing some of the biggest laughs in the movie, so we were delighted to catch up with Daniel to discuss the conception of the character.
