2020 NEW RELEASES COMING SOON TO CINEWORLD
- Tenet (released 26th August in the UK and selected European territories; 27th August in remaining European territories)
Christopher Nolan's lavishly staged new blockbuster is shrouded in mystery – and frankly we wouldn't have it any other way. The Inception and The Dark Knight helmer has described his latest movie as his "most ambitious" project so far. And it's hard to disagree when the budget has reached $205 million, with filming spanning multiple countries from the UK to India. BlacKkKlansman's John David Washington leads the cast as a globe-trotting operative who must get to grips with "time inversion". Robert Pattinson, Kenneth Branagh, Elizabeth Debicki and Michael Caine are among the other big names in the excellent cast.
- Unhinged (released 31st July) (screening in 4DX and standard widescreen)
Russell Crowe has a severe case of road rage in this taut-looking thriller. Caren Pistorius is the young mother who makes the serious mistake of crossing Crowe's unhinged loner during a traffic light altercation – leading to a nail-biting race against time.

- Proxima (released 31st July)
Casino Royale star Eva Green plays an astronaut grappling with family issues as she prepares to face the great beyond. Disorder director Anna Winocour presents a topical story of one woman's push in a male-dominated industry, juxtaposing it with an intimate story of motherhood.

- Babyteeth (released 14th August)
Little Women star Eliza Scanlen leads the cast of this independently spirited drama, about a seriously ill teenager with a lust for life who embarks on a tentative romance. Essie Davis and Ben Mendelsohn co-star.
- Dreambuilders (released 31st July)
From Denmark comes a bright and upbeat CGI family animation, about a young girl who discovers she can invade her step-sister's dreams.

- An American Pickle
We get two Seth Rogen's for the price of one in this offbeat adaptation of Simon Rich's novella 'Sell Out'. Rogen plays an Eastern European immigrant to the United States who falls into a vat of brine. Unthawed 100 years later, and perfectly preserved, he then bumps into his grandson (also Rogen), with whom he bonds. The actor's regular collaborators Brandon Trost and Evan Goldberg (This is the End; Sausage Party) are involved as director and producer, respectively.

- The Vigil
In the latest inventive horror from Blumhouse (Get Out; Halloween), a Jewish death ceremony known as 'shomer' takes a menacing turn. When a young Hasidic man, whose faith has lapsed, is tasked with watching over a dead body, he cannot foresee the terror it will bring down upon his head.

- The Fairy Princess & the Unicorn
The fairy world of Bayala is a magical country where fairies have been living in harmony with nature for centuries. - Elvis: That's The Way It Is
Elvis is well and truly back in the building with this special re-release of the seminal concert film. The Way It Is centres on Elvis Presley's July 1969 concert in Las Vegas, an event that marked his return to the stage after a decade-long absence. The show was a record-breaking success, and this intimate look at the construction of the performance offers an unprecedented, intimate look at a popular icon at the peak of his powers.

CHRISTOPHER NOLAN MOVIES SCREENING IN CINEWORLD AHEAD OF TENET
- The Dark Knight trilogy (screening in standard widescreen and also IMAX)
Nolan re-imagined the Batman mythology as a gritty, grounded crime epic that swapped elaborate Gothic set designs and campy costumes for something more believable. Christian Bale anchors the blockbusting trio of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, bringing commanding authority to the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. And the rich supporting cast adds further vibrancy to Nolan's depiction of Gotham, most famously the Oscar-winning Heath Ledger's iteration of the Joker in The Dark Knight.
If you missed Nolan's groundbreaking comic book trilogy in IMAX the first time around, now's the time to make amends. Experience Wally Pfister's sweeping cinematography the way it was meant to be experienced – both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises utilised IMAX cameras to help pull audiences into a comic book world without rules. And the immersive soundscape is another key IMAX factor, with Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard's moody soundtracks setting an appropriately dark tone.

Dreams collapse and imaginations are fired in Nolan's imaginative 2010 thriller. Fresh off the success of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Nolan was given carte blanche by Warner Bros. to imagine a wholly original scenario, one that would demand the attention of an audience as layers of subconscious intrigue unfold in front of our eyes.
Leonardo DiCaprio leads a starry cast as Dominic Cobb, tasked with leading a team inside the head of another man to plant the seed of an idea. The audacious notion is called 'inception', and it allows Nolan, plus his regular collaborator Wally Pfister, to dream big with revolving corridors, James Bond-riffing snow set-pieces and lots more.
The dreamscapes of Inception hooked global audiences during its initial run, with the film grossing more than $800 million worldwide. Now, you can venture back into the area of psychological crime with the IMAX presentation promising to add futher jaw-dropping dimensions of intrigue.
- Interstellar (screening in IMAX only)
Love transcends time and space in Nolan's galaxy-spanning sci-fi adventure, which draws on the knowledge of astrophysicist Kip Thorne for added authenticity. Matthew McConaughey is the pilot who must leave a blighted Earth to find a new home for mankind. However, Cooper must reckon with the void that opens up between himself and his young daughter Murph, left behind on Earth as her father begins an extraordinary, pioneering journey through a black hole.
Nolan's imagination reaches new heights in Interstellar, as we sweep from planets with mountain-sized waves to a fraught docking sequence set to Hans Zimmer's organ-laden score. Interstellar was widely acclaimed as an IMAX feast on its initial release in 2014, and very soon you can experience the magic all over again.

- Dunkirk (IMAX only)
Nolan fragments time once again to absorb multiple perspectives of war in this relentless thriller. Dunkirk explores the pivotal Operation Dynamo whereby thousands of Allied soldiers were rescued from the beaches of Dunkirk in northern France. With its thunderous sound design and overwhelming IMAX visuals, the movie channels an atmosphere of impending doom and horror to place audiences in the thick of this harrowing conflict. An excellent cast straddles land, sea and air, with newcomers like Fionn Whitehead joining established faces such as Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy.

- The Terminator
Timelines were scrambled and history was made with the release of James Cameron's sci-fi thriller. In contrast to the slicker, bigger-budget sequels, the first Terminator is more of a horror movie, as terrifying cyborg Arnold Schwarzenegger (in a star-making role) returns from the future to hunt down the mother of the human race's saviour. The film belies its low-budget with groundbreaking animatronic and make-up effects from Stan Winston, which keeps us gripped alongside the tricksy, paradoxical storyline. Yet there's also real heart, too, in the form of the burgeoning love affair between imperilled Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and her saviour Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn).

- Terminator 2: Judgment Day
He said he'd be back, and in 1991, Arnold Schwarzenegger lived up to his promise. Terminator sequel Judgment Day broke new ground with its astonishing liquid metal CGI effects, not to mention the physical contrast between Schwarzenegger's lumbering T-800, and a chilling Robert Patrick as the T-1000. Yet, like the first movie, it's the human interest that keeps us riveted, not to mention James Cameron's assured sense of pace and suspense, as mankind nudges ever-closer towards nuclear annihilation.

- The Lord of the Rings trilogy (showing in Superscreen and standard widescreen)
When Peter Jackson first embarked on his adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy saga, many dismissed it as a foolhardy endeavour. How wrong they were. The New Zealand filmmaker brings a commanding sense of scale to this sweeping story of the quest to destroy the One Ring. Yet he expertly juxtaposes the grandiose set-pieces with the more intimate moments, making us aware of the human (and non-human) lives at stake in the battle for Middle-earth. It's now a given that Lord of the Rings changed fantasy cinema forever, but if your experience has been diluted with endless DVD viewings, this is your chance to experience the entire trilogy back on the big screen where it belongs.

- Notting Hill
After something a bit more measured and romantic? Then opt for the re-release of Richard Curtis' delightful fairytale rom-com, in which Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts play the star-crossed lovers. The former is the stammering London bookshop owner, the latter the seemingly unattainable Hollywood movie star. Against all the odds, they form a romantic connection, although their chemistry is almost overshadowed by a scene-stealing Rhys Ifans as grubby Welsh flatmate Spike.

Forget what you think you know about The Matrix. Experience the Wachowskis' rule-bending sci-fi actioner in 4DX, and you're sure to feel the impact of the bullet-ridden, slo-mo laden set-pieces, including the famous 'bullet time' sequence. - Black Panther
Back in 1968, Black Panther broke new ground in terms of African representation in comic books. Come 2018, it was time for the movie adaptation to pick up the mantle. Fortunately, director Ryan Coogler and star Chadwick Boseman, plus the assembled efforts of the cast and crew, were more than up to the job. Both epic in its Wakandan-led scope and gripping on an inter-personal, character-led basis (particularly with Michael B. Jordan's insidious villain Killmonger), Black Panther has heart, brains and beauty to spare.
