British grime artist Rapman makes his feature film debut with gritty drama Blue Story, which screens in advance for Cineworld Unlimited members on the 15th of November.
Following the success of his YouTube series Shiro's Story, which explored the intersection point between rap, drugs and violence, Rapman (aka Andrew Onwubolu) now realises his movie ambitions.
The film is based on Rapman's own experiences, focusing on two teenage London gangs and the close friends that are caught in the midst of the chaos.
"I went through school fighting my way out the gates every day," Rapman told The Guardian. "I ended up joining the gang the kids accused me of being a part of, that I had nothing to do with. If you can’t beat them, join them. I was then doing all the stuff that gang members did."
