Jordan Peele's must-see chiller NOPE creeps its way onto Cineworld screens this week. Are you ready for the new movie from the director of Get Out and Us? And have you decided how you'll experience the movie on the big screen?
NOPE immerses audiences in a thought-provoking rollercoaster ride of immersive horror and sly humour with Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya leading the cast. The movie was captured with IMAX cameras, so a passive glimpse won't be enough. Instead, get swept up by NOPE in the following viewing formats at Cineworld.
1. IMAX
This clearly speaks for itself. Jordan Peele collaborated with NOPE cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema (Interstellar; Dunkirk) for an added sense of sweep and grandiosity, shooting with 15/65mm IMAX cameras. It infuses a more overwhelming sense of threat and menace into the film's central antagonist, although we're clearly not about to spoil what it is.
Meanwhile, the digital surround sound of IMAX helps communicate more vital information about the nature of the film's central threat, working hand in hand with the Western-aping influences of Michael Abels' score.
Put simply, you've come to the right place if you want to be scared and consumed by the latest horror entity from the Oscar-winning Peele.
Don't forget that from Friday August 12th, the day of the movie's release, all customers who purchase a ticket for NOPE in IMAX and attend that screening will be able to claim a free regular ICEE.
2. 4DX
NOPE isn't just a feast for the eyes. As with the director's previous movies, it's a profoundly visceral experience that mixes dark humour and physical jolts in equal measure. So what better way to experience Peele's latest opus than 4DX?
The 4DX experience, only at Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland, utilises visceral multisensory effects including wind, scents and moving seats. From the manifest sequences of horseback riding to the earth-shuddering scenes of something monstrous emerging from the heavens, NOPE is granted added tactility and heft via the 4DX experience.
3. Superscreen
We all love to be engulfed by our favourite horror movies. Well, NOPE in Superscreen is the real deal. The format uses a massive, wall-to-wall screen and Dolby Atmos Sound, combined with premium seating and dual 4K laser projection, all of which is guaranteed to have you quivering in delicious fear.
You can cower all you want, but you won't escape the wonderfully unsettling experience of being surrounded by Peele's latest cinematic creation.
4. ViP
Make an evening of it and elect for NOPE at one of our select Cineworld ViP screens. Enjoy complimentary dining and access to our exclusive lounge 45 minutes prior to the start of the movie. Indulge in unlimited snacks and drinks and recline in our luxury seats. Just try not to spill said snacks during moments of extreme terror (of which there are more than one).
